PARRAINAGE DE CHRYSALIDE

Chrysalide a été rescapée en mai 2011. Trouvée dans une boite devant la résidence de l'une de nos bénévoles, elle était squelettique, déshydratée, très sale, boitait et avait un abcès à une patte. La vétérinaire a constaté qu'elle était stérilisée, dégriffée des 4 pattes et était âgée d'environ 4 ans.
Elle a été réhydratée, a eu une injection d'antibiotiques et un test leucémie-sida dont le résultat est négatif. Une fois dans sa famille d'accueil, grâce à un traitement d'hydrothérapie deux fois par jour et plusieurs visites chez le vétérinaire, la plaie a commencé à guérir. Une autre plaie est apparue spontanément, mais qui est en voie de guérison aussi. Malgré tout, pendant plusieurs jours Chrysalide a pris du mieux, puis elle a arrêté de manger. Un problème supplémentaire, une canine était en train de se désagréger ce qui est très souffrant.

Une chirurgie dentaire est nécessaire pour retirer la racine de la canine.

À travers toutes ces vicissitudes, Chrysalide se montre d'une résistance à la douleur incroyable. Elle se laisse soigner sans protester, quel que soit le traitement. Elle s'est aussi révélée, une fois propre, une ravissante chatte. Très douce, elle a gardé sa confiance dans les êtres humains. Malgré son état, elle suit son hôtesse en boitant partout dans la maison et comme elle ne peut pas monter seule sur le sofa, elle miaule pour le lui demander. Affectueuse, elle réclame des caresses et pose sa tête dans la main en ronronnant pour manifester son plaisir et sa reconnaissance. Cette petite chatte très attachante a besoin d'aide mais les soins qu'elle nécessite sont coûteux. Aidez-nous à aider Chrysalide.

Chrysalide was rescued in May 2011. Found inside a box outside the home of one of our volunteers, she was dangerously thin, dehydrated, and extremely dirty. She also walked with a limp and had an abscess on her paw. After examining her, the veterinarian told us that she had been spayed and declawed on all 4 paws, and that she is about 4 years old.
She was re-hydrated and received an injection of antibiotics. She was also tested for leukaemia/FIV; both tests came back negative. Thanks to hydrotherapy treatments twice a day and multiple visits to the veterinarian, once she was placed with a foster family the wound on her paw began to heal. Although another abscess has since appeared, this wound is beginning to heal, too. In spite of everything, Chrysalide seemed to be getting better each day, but then, suddenly, she stopped eating. We discovered that she had developed a new health problem: one of her canines had begun to disintegrate, causing her an immense amount of pain.

She will have to undergo surgery to have the canine removed.

Throughout her numerous trials and tribulations, Chrysalide has shown an incredible resistance to pain. No matter how uncomfortable or painful the treatments she needs might be, she allows them to be administered without a single complaint. As we discovered once we had cleaned her up, she is a very beautiful cat. She is very sweet, and has maintained her trust in humans. Despite her poor health and her limp, she follows her hostess all over the house. Because she is unable to jump up on things on her own, she meows for assistance when she wants to have a nap on the sofa. Affectionate, she asks to be pet, and puts her head in your hand and purrs to show that she is happy and grateful for your attention. This charming little cat needs help, but the care she needs is expensive. Please help us help Chrysalide.
